How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Ottawa?

Hours of coverage

This is the single biggest factor, and the one couples most often get wrong in both directions. Four hours covers a ceremony and portraits. Six reaches the early reception. Be honest about when your day genuinely starts. If hair and makeup begin at eight but your photographer is not needed until noon, you are paying for four hours of an empty room.

One photographer or two

A second photographer typically adds $800 to $1,500, though several Ottawa studios include one as standard. Two becomes genuinely necessary when your guest count passes about 150, or when both partners are getting ready in separate locations — one camera can only point in one direction, and a single photographer will have to choose which morning goes unrecorded.

1. What is not included in this price? The most useful question in the entire process.
2. Who actually shows up on the day, and what happens if they cannot? Many Ottawa studios are one person. Ask what their contingency is.
3. How long until we receive the gallery, and is it in the contract? Delivery times in this market range from two weeks to sixteen. Late delivery is the most common complaint in the category.

When to book

Peak season in Ottawa runs May through October, and good photographers are claimed twelve to eighteen months out for Saturdays in that window.
