Eterna Films ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our clients, website visitors, and the guests we photograph and film at weddings and events. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — in plain language, consistent with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
On This Page
We collect information you provide directly to us, including when you submit an inquiry form, book a consultation, sign a contract, or communicate with us by phone, email, or text message. This may include:
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit our website, such as your browser type, device type, pages viewed, and general location, through standard analytics tools.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, ever.
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors use our site, remember your preferences, and improve site performance. This includes standard analytics cookies and, where applicable, advertising cookies used for retargeting campaigns on platforms like Google and Meta. You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; some features of our site may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.
We work with a small number of trusted third-party service providers to run our business, including customer relationship management and booking software, email and SMS communication platforms, payment processors, cloud storage and gallery delivery services, and website analytics tools. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are contractually required to protect your data. We may also disclose information where required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request.
As a photography and videography studio, capturing images and video is central to our service. Unless you request otherwise in writing, Eterna Films retains the right to use select, non-identifying or client-approved photos and video from your event for our portfolio, website, social media, marketing materials, and submissions to industry publications. We are always happy to discuss usage preferences, including opting out of portfolio use entirely, at the time of booking.
Images of guests captured incidentally during an event (for example, at a wedding reception) are used solely in connection with delivering the finished gallery or film to our client and are not otherwise used for marketing without consent.
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction — including secure, password-protected systems and encrypted cloud storage for client galleries and files. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain client information and event files for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including ongoing client relationships, legal and tax record-keeping requirements, and portfolio use as outlined above. If you would like us to delete your personal information, contact us and we will honour your request except where retention is required by law.
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, withdraw consent for certain uses (such as marketing communications), and ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and contractual limitations. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Our website and services are intended for adults planning weddings and events. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Photographs and video of children may be captured incidentally as part of family and wedding event coverage, always under the direction and consent of a parent, guardian, or event client.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
